Matt Seale came to Ocilla several times in 2004 to visit his friend, Chris Paulk. As a result of spending so much time in Ocilla, Matt began to see the potential in this small town and purchased the old ASCS building on the corner of Fourth and Cherry streets in downtown Ocilla.
The building had been renovated extensively by Terry Crain and Lisa Davis, and was home to The Shoppes at Fourth & Cherry.  (Terry and his wife, Brenda, taught second grade until retiring to work at The Shoppes.)  Through purchasing the building, Matt met and fell in love with the Crains’ daughter, Roxie, who managed The Shoppes. They married in 2007, before Matt was deployed to Iraq.  Matt has owned the building and the Fourth & Cherry Company since 2004, which has become the anchor to revitalize retail in a downtown area once thought to be dying, drawing people from surrounding counties to shop in Ocilla.  His business also helps the local economy by providing opportunities to locals who can participate as vendors in The Shoppes.
